Medical Weight Loss in Frisco, TX

Medical weight loss is a supervised programme combining clinical evaluation, lab work, nutritional and activity guidance, and — where clinically appropriate — prescription medication.

In short

What is Medical Weight Loss?

Medical weight loss is a supervised programme combining clinical evaluation, lab work, nutritional and activity guidance, and — where clinically appropriate — prescription medication. Eligibility is decided by a medical assessment, not by preference, and progress is monitored throughout.

Prescription weight-loss medication has changed what is achievable for many patients, but it is genuine medical treatment with real contraindications and side effects. Our programme starts with an evaluation and bloodwork, and continues with monitoring — not a prescription handed over at a first visit.

The process

How Medical Weight Loss works

  1. 01

    Medical evaluation and labs

History, medications, weight history and bloodwork. Thyroid disease, insulin resistance and medication side effects all affect weight and change the plan.

  2. 02

A plan built around your life

Nutrition and activity guidance that fits how you actually live, since a plan you cannot sustain produces weight that returns.

  3. 03

    Prescription therapy where appropriate

Where clinically indicated and safe for you, medication is prescribed with dose titration and monitoring for side effects.

  4. 04

    Follow-up and adjustment

Regular reviews track progress, tolerance and any need to change course.

Is Medical Weight Loss right for you?

  • You have struggled to lose weight or to keep it off with diet and exercise alone
  • You are willing to attend regular follow-up appointments
  • You have no contraindication identified at your medical evaluation
  • You are not pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding

Benefits

  • Medically supervised rather than self-directed
  • Bloodwork identifies contributing conditions before treatment starts
  • Prescription options available where clinically appropriate
  • Ongoing monitoring and adjustment, not a one-off consultation

Common questions

Medical Weight Loss questions, answered

Do you prescribe GLP-1 medications such as semaglutide?

Where it is clinically appropriate and safe for you, yes — after a medical evaluation and lab work. Eligibility, contraindications and side effects are discussed fully before anything is prescribed.

How much weight will I lose?

That varies with your starting point, the approach chosen and your adherence, so we will not quote you a figure before assessing you. Realistic, individualised targets are set at your first appointment.

Is medication required?

No. Many patients do well with structured nutritional and activity support and monitoring. Medication is one tool, considered when it is appropriate for your situation.

What are the side effects?

For GLP-1 medications, nausea, reflux and bowel changes are the common ones, usually managed with slower dose titration. Serious risks and contraindications are reviewed in full at your evaluation.
