In short

What is Skin Tightening?

Non-surgical skin tightening uses radiofrequency, ultrasound or laser energy to heat the dermis and deeper support tissue, contracting existing collagen and stimulating new collagen over the following months. It suits mild to moderate laxity on the face, neck and body; severe sagging still needs surgery.

The honest framing is that these devices buy time and improve quality — they tighten what is loosening rather than removing what has already dropped. Choosing the right device for the depth of your laxity is what determines whether you are pleased at three months.

The process

How Skin Tightening works

  1. 01

    Matching device to depth

Superficial crepiness, dermal laxity and deep support laxity are three different problems. We assess which you have before recommending a device.

  2. 02

    Controlled heating

Tissue is brought to a therapeutic temperature that contracts collagen immediately and triggers remodelling over the weeks after.

  3. 03

    A response measured in months

New collagen takes 6–12 weeks to appear and keeps improving for up to six months. Before-and-after photographs are taken so progress is measurable.

Is Skin Tightening right for you?

  • You have mild to moderate laxity on the face, neck, abdomen or arms
  • You want improvement without surgery or downtime
  • You are within a stable weight range
  • You have realistic expectations — this is tightening, not lifting heavy tissue

Benefits

  • No incisions, no anaesthetic, no recovery time
  • Works on the body as well as the face
  • Results look gradual because they are your own collagen
  • Combines well with fillers or threads where volume or lift is also needed

Non-surgical lifting and tightening compared

These treat different depths. A consultation is about matching the depth of the problem to the depth of the device.

Common questions

Skin Tightening questions, answered

How much tightening can I realistically expect?

A visible improvement in firmness and skin quality, not a surgical result. If your laxity is severe, we will tell you that surgery is the treatment that matches your goal.

How long until I see results?

Six to twelve weeks for the first clear change, continuing to improve for up to six months as collagen remodels.

Which is better, radiofrequency or ultrasound?

They reach different depths. Ultrasound targets the deep support layer in a single session; radiofrequency works the dermis over a series. The right answer depends on what your assessment shows.

How long do results last?

Around a year for most patients. Ageing continues, so maintenance treatments keep the result from drifting back.
